About You — And This Position

As a full-stack product designer, you own the entire feature design lifecycle—from understanding provided business requirements to UX research to design to supporting delivery to usability testing post-launch.

You’ll thrive in a distributed product culture, reporting to the CTO (within our shared services Engineering Team) while closely partnering with business-side product managers to translate business needs into great user experiences. To support your growth, you’ll receive mentorship and process training from a Fractional Head of Digital Product + UX Ops.

This high-ownership role requires exceptional emotional intelligence, communication, and a results-focused mindset. You’ll balance autonomy with collaboration, make smart trade-offs, and drive execution—all while maintaining a positive, solution-oriented approach.

  • You’re a full-stack product designer who owns the entire feature design lifecycle
    • Own the outcome – You drive feature design from concept to launch, ensuring features meet business, user, and technical needs.
    • Balance vision and execution – You see the big picture but focus on details, making smart trade-offs to stay on track.
    • Buy-in and improve processes: You’ll bring a positive attitude, embrace our processes and design ops, and help evolve them over time.
  • You thrive as a self-starter within a cross-functional, distributed product culture
    • Work independently, collaborate effectively – Be a self-starter on a lean and growing team, working independently while staying aligned
    • Bridge business and engineering – Partner with business-side product managers to align priorities, advocate for UX, and work with engineers to deliver effectively
    • Prioritize and deliver – Manage multiple initiatives, stay cool under pressure, and drive results.
  • You lead with clarity, reliability, and emotional intelligence
    • Communicate with impact – Present with clarity and conviction, align stakeholders, and rally teams to consensus.
    • Build trust through reliability – Be detail-oriented, solution-focused, and always delivering.
    • Balance results with emotional intelligence – Navigate challenges with diplomacy and clarity.

Core Responsibilities

  • Analyze business and design requirements
  • Conduct and present design research
    • Analyze user and client data – Review personas, analytics, and usability insights
    • Research and ideate – Analyze competitors and generate concepts through workshops, storyboards, and mapping.
    • Define strategy – Translate research into user flows, feature lists, and interaction frameworks.
    • Present findings – Advocate for your design strategy and align with stakeholders before design.
  • Design new features, moving from wireframes to pixel perfect designs
    • Create Lo-Fi wireframes – Draft quick wireframes and prototypes to test, iterate, and refine structure.
    • Refine with Mid-Fi designs – Define layout and interactions, while aligning early and often with stakeholders and engineering.
    • Finalize Hi-Fi designs – Deliver pixel-perfect, dev-ready designs that meet all requirements.
  • Write functional specification documents and support feature delivery
    • Own functional specs – Write and manage UI and interactive specs, coordinating with product, engineering, and content.
    • Lead spec kickoff – Align with engineering pre-build to review specs and address questions.
    • Support development – Assist engineers with QA, answer questions, and adjust for feasibility.
    • Analyze post-launch – Review analytics and usability data to identify improvements.
  • Contribute to design system and product design ops
    • Manage the design system – Keep Figma updated, synced with code, and integrate new components.
    • Follow and improve product ops – Adhere to processes, attend ops meetings, and give feedback.
