Job Description

DESCRIPTION

Amazon is seeking a high judgment, well-organized, self-motivated, and creative digital communicator to create and manage news-focused social media.

The Global Social Media team, within Amazon’s communications org, oversees dozens of Amazon social accounts across the world on Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok, and LinkedIn. This role is on the Seattle-based North America team, and will manage the new @AmazonUnpacked Instagram channel, which disseminates Amazon’s most high-profile news, gives a behind-the-scenes look at the company, and goes deep on priority narratives—all through social-friendly and entertaining creative. As a Social Media Manager, you’ll plan and execute engaging and informative social content, organic and paid, to strengthen Amazon’s corporate reputation by communicating our top business priorities and news moments. This involves collaborating with stakeholders on topics as diverse as retail, artificial intelligence, sustainability, entertainment, and many more – to drive impressions, engagements, and follower growth. At the same time, you’ll measure @AmazonUnpacked’s performance, set benchmarks, and continue optimizing it via data-driven recommendations.

As a successful candidate, you'll have a proven track record of rolling up your sleeves to strategize and execute bar-raising social content with an emphasis on news and on-camera storytelling. You should live and breathe social, meaning you’re familiar with the full spectrum of social formats (text-only, photos, short- and long-form video, animations, memes, etc.) and tactics (creators/influencers, partnerships, community management, issues management, etc.). You should also have an intimate understanding of the current digital/social media landscape, be a strategic thinker, goal oriented, and excel in a fast-paced, start-up culture. This is a role that requires both strong creative and analytical chops—on a team that works hard and has fun.
